12 hours October 14th, 2017

Diwali – the festival of lights – is the festival that symbolizes good over evil. The festival grades itself with joy, happiness, prosperity and spreads a positive vibe everywhere. B. S. Anangpuria Institute of Pharmacy, Alampur, Faridabad, celebrated this beautiful festival, on October 14th, 2017 with enthusiasm and gaiety. The event was commemorated by the college dignitaries, Prof. Roop K. Khar and Prof. Shiv Kumar Yadav along with all the faculty members. The event began with the traditional lamp-lighting, followed by Goddess Laxmi pojan, elicited by the students of the institution. This was followed by a number of other programs, organized by the students, which included various events like Room Decoration, Fashion show, Musical instrument playing, Singing and Dancing, Drama and what not.
A series of competitions were also conducted to enthrall the audience and encourage the students to take part in healthy competitive activities to showcase their inner hidden talents. These included inter-class competitions, such as Rangoli Making, Painting, Diya decoration, and Mehendi competition. Room decoration competition also took place, in which the students of a class decorated their classes with lights, candles, streamers, painting, and portraits of Goddess Laxmi. The students wore colorful outfits. The show was stolen by the beautiful Rangolis and Paintings which lay everywhere along the floors and the walls of the college premises. The students also celebrated the fest by putting up various stalls of food and games which were the attention seeker for all the guests and the higher authorities. Different food stalls were put up viz. Pizza stalls, south-Indian food stalls, Kheer, “Gol- Gappe”, hot- dog etc. along with various game stalls, like Drop and Win, Put a Ring etc. All the events presented by the students carried one or the other message – be it a dance, a song or a play. All the students were more encouraged by the distribution of prizes, certificates, and trophies for different events. Our honorable principal, Prof Roop K. Khar advised the students to not play with fireworks on this festival, vouching for a healthy, safe and a more prosperous Diwali. This was a gesture towards presenting a needed concern for the environment, which is a crucial step towards a better living. Finally, the programme marked its end with the distribution of sweets to all of us. Certainly, this year marked a unique and the most entertaining Diwali ever celebrated in the institution, leaving all the members with a memory they would cherish for a long time.
